Our Idea
Our idea is to create the perfect smart kettle experience. Kettles appear to have been forgotten devices whilst other hardware has received massive technological advances.
Our aim is to create a kettle that considers all our users' needs and desires, giving users an effortless and positive experience
Our key deliverable will be focusing on the Smettle smart app
User Research
We created a google survey to narrow down our target audience as well as our user's priorities when designing the kettle, used a Likert scale to find the importance of potential features to be included.

Competitor analysis
The market for Smart Kettle is expanding as consumers desire for convenient, customizable and personalized experiences. The market is occupied with number of competitors each offering unique features targeting certain user groups.

Scenarios and storyboards
Visualizing a day in the life of different user personas created so far. Created scenarios and storyboards based on what the user might potentially benefit after purchasing Smettle.

Low fidelity design
All group members designed wireframes for the app, each design was then brought together and was discussed on. The process of selecting and eliminating elements of different designs resulted in the final wireframe.

User testing
User testing consisted of Parent of three young children, Student and student and worker.
Asked the users to conduct tests whilst speaking out loud about their thoughts and process (Think aloud)-
Roam the app freely
Boil the kettle whilst making sure child lock is on
Use the app for their preferred use
User feedback
Wanted water level to show how many cups worth were left instead of actual water measurement
Quick access on the home page was causing confusion
Need to add a child lock button to the boil In progress page
Didn’t want to put details in right away so add continue as guest feature
Users liked the statistics on profile page
During FAQ and help page users wanted a call option instead of only email

Scope moving forward we would love develop a better physical model of the kettle.
